There is no best workout split, but it’s one that you like or enjoy doing. The best one is the one you enjoy doing. I’ll be honest, my favourite split is the infamous bro split (wait, don’t go! hear me out).
t did took sometime to find out what works for me . My workout split is a semi bro split that’s model after the upper-lower split with 4 working days. However, I did add a “weak point” day in day 5 because I’d like to raise the frequencies for several body parts. I would suggest anyone to do so if their lifting days are less that 4 days/ week.
I took the idea of putting compound exercise at the beginning of every session (typical) from the well-known LPP split (Leg, Push, Pull)
In my personal split, I will record my numbers for the compound lifts and make sure it remains or increases.
Day 1 (Legs)
Squats 5×10,8,6,4,2
Leg press 4×10
Stiff leg dead 4×10
Hamstring curl 5×12
Leg extensions 5×12
Abductor adductor 3×10 (superset)
Day 2 (Shoulder)
Barbell military press 4×6-8
Lateral raise 3×8-12
Reverse flies 3×8-12
Lying face pulls 2×12-15
Standing face pulls 2×12-15
Day 3 (Arms+Deadlift)
Deadlift 5x 10,8,6,4,2
Barbell curl 6×8
Skullcrusher 6×8
Incline curl 5×6
Straight bar push down 5×20
Dips 5xfailure
Preacher 5×30
Day 4 (Chest and Back)
Flat bench 5x 10,8,6,4,2
Wide grip pull up 5x failure
Incline dumbbells 5×12
Seated row 5×12
Narrow grip pull down 5x failure
Chest fly 5×12
Dumbbell pullover 3×10
Day 5 (weak points)**
Leg raises 50
Side crunch 50
